The directory is a resource hub which enables individuals struggling with their emotional well-being to find a qualified and insured counsellor. Counselling Directory was set up by a team who know how difficult it can be to find the right support, and we’re passionate about connecting people to the support they deserve. As well as providing a directory of counsellors, we also share free advice and guidance from counsellors through our expert articles. We also list counselling organisations and charities who offer free or low concession counselling. To ensure the professionalism of our website, all counsellors have provided us with their proof of membership with a professional body.
We offer one-on-one counselling sessions face-to-face and via video chat, telephone calls, or chat messenger on our new online platform, EDAS First Connect.
Our therapists are discreet, understanding, and knowledgeable in their field and will work with you on whatever issues you are facing. We cover a range of issues including stress, anxiety, addiction and substance misuse, relationships, changing behaviour, and much more.
Face-to-face sessions are available for those who live nearby to our offices in 54a Asley Road, Parkstone, Poole, Dorset. Contact us directly on [email protected] or 01202 735777 to learn more.

We offer one to one sessions with one of our trained bereavement supporters. These usually take place over the phone or via a video call. You’ll normally see one of our volunteers between one and six times.
In one to one sessions you can explore your grief with your bereavement supporter. You can talk about the person who died, how their death is affecting you, and how you are coping. Using counselling skills, your supporter will help you to understand what you are going through and develop coping strategies.
One to one support offers a safe, confidential space for you to explore emotions. It helps to you explore feelings and thoughts and make sense of your world. It can be very helpful if you are feeling a lot of distress.
Please note due to high demand for our services, there is a waiting list for one to one support. Please call us to find out more about our support services and how you can help you. If our volunteers are not available to take your call please call our national helpline, free on 0808 808 1677.
At Cancer Support UK, we understand that it’s perfectly normal to be left with anxiety and concerns after treatment – sometimes for a long time – and following discharge, it’s hard to know where to go for help.
When cancer treatment finally finishes, family and friends often expect cancer patients to feel better, but for many, it’s when they feel worst of all.
