Our mission is to share our knowledge and practical experience to empower people to change the way they think and act about energy.

We do this by giving advice, managing innovative energy projects, training and supporting others to act, and undertaking research and policy analysis.

LEAP is a free service that is helping people keep warm and reduce their energy bills without costing them any money

LEAP has a wide network of referral organisations who will refer anyone who is in (or at risk of falling into) fuel poverty. Referral organisations could, for example, include your local food bank, Citizens Advice, health clinic, your rent or housing officer or local authority contact.

After we’ve received your referral, a member of our highly trained energy advisor team will contact you to discuss your situation. We will offer you tailored advice and support based on your needs, including any onwards referral or referral for a follow-up home visit when suitable.

Following your energy advice call, we will send you a summary of the energy advice discussed with your advisor and a reminder of any onward referrals made.

Ridgewater Energy deliver Energy Efficiency measures throughout Dorset on behalf of BCP Council, Dorset Council and Public Health Dorset.

Key schemes managed by Ridgewater Energy include:

LEAP* – Local Energy Advice Partnerships. This is a national scheme offering a free service that is helping people keep warm and reduce their energy bills without costing them any money. During a home visit, our team of experts will also install free quick win measures. While on-site they will also identify if larger measures such as Loft insulation or cavity wall insulation is required.

Healthy Homes Dorset* – Is a Dorset wide scheme offering homeowners and tenants the opportunity to access advice, receive home visits and in the same way as LEAP open up the opportunity to funding for larger insulation and home improvement measures.

HUG Home Upgrade Grant* – Funded by the Department of Energy Security and Net Zero, Ridgewater Energy support BCP Council and Dorset Council in the delivery of this scheme.

Aimed at properties that are OFF mains gas with a lower EPC rating of D, E, F or G, this scheme can assist with full home insulation solutions and can include the installation of Solar PV, Solar Thermal, High Efficiency Electric heating or Air source heat pumps.
