At Blind Veterans UK, we provide veterans with rehabilitation, training, practical advice and emotional support. We’re one transformational team that believes every vision-impaired veteran should be able to lead the life they choose. Together we can help rebuild lives after sight loss. We help blind ex-Servicemen and women of every generation. Since 1915, we’ve provided support to tens of thousands of vision-impaired veterans. Together we can help rebuild blind veterans’ lives after sight loss. Away from isolation. Towards a life of fulfilment.
Launched in 2011 as a result of a veteran who experienced a difficult transition from the military to the civilian job market after their forces career was cut short, Lifeworks is part of Royal British Legion Industries, which has over 100 years of experience in helping veterans and their families. Our Lifeworks programme offers tailored employability support to Armed Forces veterans and the families of those currently serving. Courses and support are tailored to suit the requirements of those who need it and our specialist advisors are on hand throughout your journey to help you find an opportunity that is right for you. On completion of the course you will have an internationally recognised SQA qualification.

Our support covers both regulars and reserves in the Royal Navy, the Royal Marines, the British Army and the Royal Air Force and their families, including anyone who has completed National Service. They are all entitled to lifelong support from SSAFA, no matter how long they have served.
SSAFA helps the armed forces community in a number of ways, though our focus is on providing direct support to individuals in need of physical or emotional care.
Addiction, relationship breakdown, debt, homelessness, post-traumatic stress, depression and disability are all issues that can affect our members of our Armed Forces community. Many of these problems only become apparent when an individual has to leave their life in the Forces and join ‘Civvy Street’. SSAFA is committed to helping our brave men and women overcome these problems, and rebuild their lives.
We are a group of veterans and serving members of His Majesty’s Armed Forces. There are no commitments or subs…just a great place to meet like-minded people for support, chat and banter…not forgetting a great breakfast.
When requesting to join, please check all your message inboxes for messages from one of the club admin team, and once you have joined the Facebook Group, please check the group for times, dates and any updates.
Attending we have Veterans of the Army, Royal Navy, Royal Air Force and Royal Marines…so if you want to return to the tribe, come along, join in the banter as long as you have a uniform service history, or association with such, and can cope with the sense of humour. It
