ESCAPE-pain Online is freely available to anyone but is aimed specifically at people who have knee or hip osteoarthritis. It was designed to support people who have attended the face-to-face ESCAPE-pain programme to continue to exercise after the programme has ended. We have also found that it is useful for people who don’t live near a face-to-face class.
ESCAPE-pain Online provide users with a structured education and exercise programme of 12 sessions over six weeks. There are two compulsory sessions per week and they are a combination of education and exercise.
Education – watch engaging animations and education videos to learn to manage your condition better.
Exercise – choose between 16 high quality exercise videos to improve your joint pain.
The programme requires you to record your progress and repetitions which you are prompted to do with clear and simple guidance. Some exercises will ask you to record how many you completed in the allocated time, while others will ask you to just confirm if you completed the exercise or not.
Accessible Countryside for Everyone (ACE) is an independent voluntary project, it is here to provide information and promote accessibility to leisure in the countryside of England – primarily aimed at those with mobility issues, there carers and families.
England has some of the most fantastic countryside, from mountains and valleys to rolling hills, scenic coast, wooded valleys and open moors.
There are thousands of miles of public footpaths, bridleways, green lanes, trails and tracks however I have found that so little appears to be accessible to those using wheelchairs or mobility scooters, parents with buggies or those with mobility impairment who find stiles difficult to negotiate.
I am not able to remove the obstacles but I can publicise the places that are accessible. We all have a right to enjoy the countryside and my hope is that this site will help in making it more accessible to more people. The Countryside IS for Everyone.
AQUABILITY is a friendly accessible swimming club. We cater for anyone with mobility difficulties, from registered disabled to those recovering from sports injuries.

Our Better Balance classes are designed to help reduce the risk of a fall which could lead to an injury in later life. Many people think there is nothing they can do about getting less mobile in older age but regular gentle exercise can make a big difference.
What is Better Balance?
Are you concerned about falling, or have you fallen recently? Falls are such common events for older people, often with such severe consequences, but it’s easy to think that it won’t happen to you, or to assume there’s nothing you can do about it. But around 30% of adults over 65 living at home will experience one fall a year; around 2.5 million people in England, rising to 50% of adults over 80 living in their home or residential care.
Our classes are low impact and suitable for all abilities and ages. Most participants notice a rapid improvement in their confidence, balance, and stability, especially if they continue their learning at home.
Classes are held at the following location:
Canford Cliffs Village Hall, 17 Ravine Road, Canford Cliffs, Poole, BH13 7HT
